GMI appointed on 2 Stockport Exchange

GMI Construction Group plc has been appointed as the main contractor to deliver 2 Stockport Exchange, the next phase of development at the award winning Stockport Exchange business district.

The new 60,000 sq ft six-storey Grade A office, will be constructed next to the popular 1 Stockport Exchange that was fully let within just six months of completion.

Sitting next to Stockport’s mainline rail station, from where businesses can enjoy unrivalled connectivity to London, Manchester and locations across the UK, Stockport Exchange has proven highly successful.

Being delivered by Muse in partnership with Stockport Council, 2 Stockport Exchange is the next stage of work at Stockport’s £145 million flagship office development, creating a commercial hub in the heart of Stockport town centre.  The development is part of a £1billion transformation underway across Stockport creating thousands of new opportunities and jobs for businesses and residents.

Work on 2 Stockport Exchange will begin over the coming weeks with the development completing in Spring 2020.

Stockport Exchange will ultimately deliver up to 375,000 sq ft of office space and 28,000 sq ft of commercial floor space.

Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE are appointed as joint agents for the scheme.
